Shockingly!! ! play ground ,music room,auditorium,painting room,library, everything is there in place !!!!! But  there are no children at  Jawahar  Balbhawan Mandi Road south Delhi.   Bureaucracy is taking a toll of children's creativity ,talent and play. Teenagers and young adults are particularly vulnerable to using licit or illicit drugs. The prevalence of drug use among young people is more than twice as high as that among the general population. At this age, peer pressure to experiment with illicit drugs can be strong and self-esteem is often low. Also, those who take drugs tend to be either misinformed or insufficiently aware of the health risks involved. Visit to Bhim Basti and BalBhawan Mandi  Yesterday we visited the Bal Bhavan to see a graduation program of the radio club –a previous activity conducted by Suneel and Pallavi including several students in English class at Bhim Basti.   Dr.Smith in the year 2011at Pehchaan Radio club a project of Nada India   The graduation itself took more than an hour with speeches by several of the teenagers and an announcement of a 500-800 word essay contest (in Hindi of course).  There were about 75 kids aged 6-18 in the multiple graduation of different Nada India programs.  The constructive enthusiastic attention was impressive—considering the range of ages and topics.  This Bal Bhavan (meaning simply ‘children’s building’)is an extensive 20 building park with displays of paintings, drawings, etc, a large bird house, yoga posters, and other activity centers.  It is a product of prior decades when the Indian government emphasized social uplifting in urban...

Officer in charge Mr.Nagender Singh Bisth of Jawahar BalBhawan Mandi village conducted on a brief orientation for children attending Radio club on drug /alcohol prevention .Mr.Bisth is also a established curator talked about  how to prepare alcohol prevention  materiel by using stories,colours and Kolaj work. Balbhawan Mandi and Nada India has set up a permanent exhibition on alcohol and drug prevention for children at Mandi village.  The creative materiel produced during these competitions and workshops were used in the exhibition. Mr.Suneel Vatsyayan of Nada India along with Mr.Sanjeev ,Mr.Narender of Balbhawan ,Mr.Chandan and Punit from IGNOU were also present on this occasion.
