New Delhi: A collaborated Online seminar on the Topic Nasha Mukt Bharat was Organized by National Service Scheme (NSS) of Institute of Home Economics of University
of Delhi and Nada Young India Foundation on Drug Abuse was held on 19 December
2023.
Over 60 volunteers along with their program officer Miss Bhavna Negi took part in the insightful session with Nada India Foundation Chairperson and Life Coach Sh. Suneel Vatsyayan. The seminar was under the theme
Nasha Mukt Bharat. In the interactive Google meet session the young minds shared their thoughts and experiences on adverse impact of consumption of alcohol and tobacco.
The
knowledge to stop the consumption and change our minds for its use whether it
is our parents or partners was the best part of it. In One and half hour-long timeframe, participants Student learned about hazardous effect of Tobacco including E- cigarette and all day-to-day addiction
like chips or anything.
Students also shared their experiences with smokers
and alcoholics. As the Guest Expert asked students about laws for drug abuse especially
focusing in and around the college. The seminar was informative with youth minds singing their minds out and grabbing the opportunity to learn
something which is necessary and relevant.
The volunteers
gained the insights about how drug exploits one’s body and mind along with
social relationships. Suneel Vatsyayan in his detailed practical approach explained about all the psychological,
physiological and social aspects of addiction.All the participants were advised to create.
awareness in and around their community. As By joining hands
and working together, one can create a society that is well informed,
supportive, and equipped to combat drug abuse effectively.
Suneel Vatsyayan was happy with active participation. He Said it was heartening to witness NSS volunteers Institute of Home Economics Delhi University actively engaging in empowering session, advocating for lifelong health. Their commitment to resisting targeted tobacco marketing is commendable. NSS represents a powerful movement for positive change among young people. Keep up the impactful work.
