Nada Young India Health Advocate Chosen as India's Representative for Asia Young Ambassadors Summit 2023

New Delhi, 23 August 2023 – Nada India Foundation proudly announces that Miss Reeta Devi, a dedicated young health advocate and active member of Nada Young India Network (NYIN), has been selected to represent India at the prestigious Tobacco-Free Kids’ Regional Asia Young Ambassadors Summit in Bangkok.

Reet Devi, hailing from the serene village of Pathrevi in Karsog Tehsil, District Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, is set to embark on an empowering journey as she represents India at the Young Asia Ambassadors summit. She joins the ranks of the first cohort of young ambassadors from Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, and Vietnam who will converge at the summit, scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 1 in Bangkok, Thailand.


A graduate in Social Work from Himachal Pradesh University, Reet's journey as a social worker began during her school days. Her passion and dedication led her to become an active member of Nada Young India Network (NYIN) in April 2022. Under the mentorship of Nada India Foundation's chairperson, Suneel Vatsyayan, and NYIN State coordinator, Mangal Singh, Reet's involvement catalyzed positive change in the fight against tobacco and substance abuse.

Facing the challenge of widespread tobacco consumption among youth in Himachal, Reet displayed remarkable leadership. She initiated social outreach programs, engaged stakeholders tirelessly, and strategized to bring about change. Her efforts included creating networks, building relationships, and collaborating with state-level officials to address pressing issues related to tobacco tax increase. Reet's determination and perseverance were pivotal in raising awareness and garnering support for crucial initiatives.

Reet's contributions extended to crucial platforms, including the first Nada State consultation on Tobacco Tax of partners of Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) at the Himachal Pradesh University's Department of Economics. Her active involvement in meetings with key stakeholders, including IAS Yunus Khan and Dr. Gopal Chuhan further demonstrated her commitment to driving meaningful change.


Additionally, Reet participated enthusiastically in advocating for the COTPA amendment, support letter for tax increase and an Over-the-Top (OTT) rules thanks letter writing campaign.
