Neelam Verma, Intern at Nada India Foundation has a story to tell...

Its a true incident which deals with a family including parents and their three childrn-2 girls n 1 boy..Father was addicted to alcohol..His addiction was ruining him n his family. He used to get drunk and beat his wife..This was not only a physical harassment to his wife but also mental torture to their children..At dis moment, you can imagine what must be the state of mind of those three kids. What must be their perceptions about their father...after some time the father lost his job because of alcoholism. This was the time when the mother took a job..as she was not well educated... she started her own work of stitching which didn't proved to be much profitable but still it helped her to earn a living..But d alcoholic husband use to snatch that money from her for purchasing alcohol..This went on for aboutt 2-3 yrs..one evening I was sitting in my room and I heard some noises coming from outside the house..I walked to my balcony and saw something which didn’t startled me because my speculations came true that day “that alcoholic is no more”,one uncle was saying to one passerby..At present , that family is leading a happy life. Boy is married now n his elder sis has a baby and younger sis is studying…….ALCOHOL MAY GIVE PLEASURE TO ONE FOR HOURS BUT AT THE COST OF ONE’S PRECIOUS LIFE..
