The workshop was  introduced by Mr.Suneel Vatsyayan, Chairman ,Nada India Foundation. He said that  we all are  like radio stations and each one of  us are radio station directors. This analogy helps us to understand what we speak is important and what we listen is also important. As an informed media consumer students needs to understand the intrusive nature of the media and how media leaves a last longing  impact on  impressionable minds of the young people.

The Pehchaan radio club aims to empower  the young and how they can become informed media consumers and sensitive media producers.  The workshop was coordinated  by Ms.Pallavi Pehchaan Project Director of Nada India and Ms.Abha Narula, teacher In-charge D.A.V.school. The students were also asked to recall a news item and feeling associated with that news. The maximum number of students recalled the news related to Arushi murder case  They shared their feeling of being angry ,confused,   helplessness  and disappointment in delayed justice.

The next most  disturbing news were terror attacks on Mumbai and also quoted the examples of Sarojni Nagar blast and Godara tragedy and 87 people were feared dead in Norway ,after a gunman mowed down students at a summer camp hours after a bomb had devastated the centre of Oslo.

Anna Hazare and Ramdev fasting news attracted the attention of the students also and  they shared this news as an inspirational and delighted with patriotism and strong determination shown by Anna. They also  shared  their annoyance  towards politicians.
Few students shared their concerns  about over exposure of news  in the media like Arushi  case , End of the Earth by 2012  and Nirmal Baba fraud . One of the student was shocked to read the news item related to 100% attendance in 14 years of school and later termed  it as an inspirational news too. A series of workshops and activities have been planned for this academic year.
