Summary: According to official stats, 2,714 people were forwarded to jail from July 1 to July 26 for violating prohibition laws. Police also seized 15,346 litres of country liquor in July while immediately after prohibition, 39,139 litres of country liquor were seized in April. An estimated 10,000 people have been arrested and forwarded to jail during the last four months on the charge of violating prohibition in Bihar. In May, 22,252 litres of country liquor and in June, 9,674 litres of country liquor were seized from different parts of the state.
